What we collect

When you subscribe to the mailing list, we collect your email address along with some technical information sent automatically by your browser: your IP address, browser type, device type, language preference, and the page you subscribed from.

We also derive your approximate location (country, region, city, and timezone) from your IP address. This helps us understand where our readers are and when to send emails. No names, no payment info, no social media profiles.

How it's used

Your email is used exclusively for the mailing list — seasonal recipes, new writings, and occasional notes from Mackenzie. Your email is never sold, shared, or used for anything unrelated to her work.

The technical metadata (IP, location, device type) is used only to prevent abuse, understand our audience in aggregate, and improve the site. It is never shared with third parties or used for advertising.

Storage & deletion

Your data is stored securely in an encrypted database (AWS DynamoDB). When you unsubscribe, your email and all associated metadata are permanently deleted within 30 days.

Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also request removal at hello@mackenziekrauter.com.

Cookies & analytics

Only essential cookies are used. Any analytics are aggregate and privacy-respecting. No data is shared with advertising networks.
